Hi, im new here and find this site to be very awesome! I have had chameleons several times in my life and have always learned from the school of hard knocks and books!
In the past i have had panthers and an oustalets chameleon that i had for a long time when i lived in Florida!
I recently purchased a male and female veiled chameleons and decided to look on line to research for their best care! Thats how i found this awesome site!
Ok, i have had them (Romeo) the male and (Juliette) the female for a month now and have done pretty well, i think, on the making of the terrarium i just finished for them! I built it before finding your site and i see i have a few lil things to fix but not to much! It was a closet in my wife and i's room that i converted into an awesome 76" wide x 48" tall and 30" deep terrarium! I know it should be taller than wide but i did not want to run it all the way to the floor so my dog would not stress them out and i figured 48" was plenty tall enough!
Anyhow,, i do have a sand substrate on the floor over a frp bottom with a drain! I keep my crickets in a bowl for feeding! I also have them caged together for now as all is well so far! And also have an extra 24"x24"x48" screen terrarium for back up if i need to separate them! I do have a 48" florescent uvb light as well as a 18" and two 75 watt basking lights, one for each side of the terrarium! They seem to like to bask separately but often do bask together!! I have 3 plants in there and im maxed out on typage! lol
