Hey everyone,
I am new to the forum and to chameleons. I got a veiled chameleon a few days ago. I have been doing lots of research, this forum has been a really big part of that. Here is a picture of the little guy.

Hi!

Welcome to the forums. Your picture did not post. I really want to see him.

He he, yeah... I uploaded the photos but for some reason they did not attach. Thats ok, I will take an even better picture with my actual camera and upload it in a few minutes.

hey man, welcome to the forum, you will probably have more questions, when you do just post a thread and we will help you out. Remember to give posts and threads that you find particularly helpful reputation points. Good luck with your cham, and WELCOME :D :D :D

Alright, busted out my Rebel (camera). These were taken in a relatively dark room without a flash. I'll try to sneak in later and get a pic of the little guy sleeping (I like his "sleeping color" best).

Here he is, up close and personal.

My setup, UVA/UVB tube light and 50W basking lamp. I have a gladware container with a small hole dripping water onto the ficus leaves. I am debating removing that bromeliad. I also have a humidifier running in the room.

Welcome to the forums and the chameleon world. My first cham was a Veiled.

Thanks! I was a little hesitant starting with a veiled given their reputation of being aggressive- but they are fairly easy to get around here and my research suggested they are more forgiving of mistake than a lot of other species. So far I really like him. I am hoping that if I handle him a little bit once in a while he will be less aggressive toward me.

He's so cute!

I can't see him in the second picture, I assume that's because he's a great chameleon and can hide from me...mine do it all the time.

Welcome to the Forums!!

My first two chams were Veils. Sweeney and Isis.

Beautiful looking cham you have there. Welcome and keep us posted

Ps, whats his name?

He must be, he's right in the middle on top of the ficus but below the vine. There's a bit of a glare. The second picture was a zoom out, I basically just wanted to show his setup. When he gets a little bit bigger I plan to get a larger habitat for him.

I have not picked a name yet, wanted to get to know him a little better first. I was kind of thinking "Plato" or "Copernicus" or something like that.

Thank you!!!!!! I totally agree that you cannot just pick a name right away! You need to learn who your little companion is before giving them a name! Haha i've caught so much flax for that in the past.

:)

Alright, snuck a few more pics:

Here he is hanging out on a branch. I like this picture because it shows his tail.

Sleeping... He's been asleep for a little bit.

Oh, I want to throw out there by the way. This chameleon is a victory in a 4 year long battle with my other half. I have been trying to convince her to let me get a chameleon for years- she finally gave in!!

Now, here I am :)

Welcome to the forum! my first cham was a veiled too and your right they are the most forgiving. out of my 4 veileds only 1 is aggressive. so i think its a hit or miss thing. congrats on your new chameleon and be prepared to become hopelessly addictive. lol
