New to having a panther chameleon

this is my first chameleon he is 6 months old and I have read to feed him in the morning. The problem is he will not eat them right away. I know he is eating them i think he is only eating 3 or 4 cricket a day. My question is, is it ok just to let the cricket free in his enclosure? If any buddy has any advice for me please let me know. I want to make sure he is happy

Yes....you can definitely let the crickets loose in the cage.
