New to forum and Chameleons

I didnt know that about the bulb. A new one is going to have to wait as I just spent $30.00 on this one. I did however have my husband start making a new enclosure for him. I hope it is ok. It is bigger than what he is currently in also. It is 28" Wide 32" Tall and 16" Deep.

And is the Yucca Plant safe for them or no?

Chameleons love to be up high, so the heigth of the cage is kinda short. You can always raise it up by setting it on a table or building a stand that would elevate it. the preferred cage size for adult sub adult/adult veilds, is 24 X 24 X 48. I have my panther in a 36 X 30 X 18, but I also free range him and have a huge outdoor cage he can roam around in too.

Oh hes not going to be on a floor. That cage will set on a regular sized dresser in my sons room so he will be well off the ground.

Sagemoon I would love some help because this is just a temporary setup until we can get a good one bought or made.

I know, I didn't figure you would be leaving it on the floor. Just try and elevate it so it is above eye level. They are more comfortable being above you! Sounds like you are doing everything you need to do! There is alot involved with taking care of these guys, more than some realize when they get them. But is well worth it in my opinion. They are living art and fascinating to watch as they change and grow!!
