So I just got this cham that was found in the grass behind a bunch of houses. This leads me to believe that he was a pet that was released. I've had him for two days now.
I'm not sure if he is eating (learned the hard way that I need to count how many crickets I put in his cage). I'm not sure if he's drinking. I let a solo cup of water drip through the leaves 5 times a day along with spraying all the leaves down with a spray bottle(I don't have a mister yet). Am I supposed to spray him with the water too? I haven't been, but I will if it will help him out.
He has moved spots three times since being in the cage.
The first night he stayed at the bottom of the fake vine I got. When he woke up in the morning he headed straight for the top but didn't get right up to the UVB light.
When I came home for lunch, he was on a lone twig close to the top with no leaves around(the picture from outside the cage). I'm hoping he went up there to eat a cricket, but like I said, I'm not sure.
Now he has moved to the leaves under the UVB light, even though he isn't in the light.
For the cage, I only have the one UVB light, 13w I think. I got a heat lamp today, but it promptly fell off the edge I had it clamped to and broke the bulb. So he never had a chance to get in the heat. I have a bunch of branches with big leaves(hawaii tree that gets purple flowers, idk what kind) and some fake vines. I bought a hawaii hibiscus, but I haven't put it in yet. Im going to put it in a better pot and put the rocks over the dirt.
I'm going to make a cricket feeder bucket tomorrow and get a good count of whats in there. It was my first time handling crickets, so I kind of just tossed some in there. I dusted a few with tetrafauna ReptoCal first. I also got Fluckers Orange Cube for cricket food, but I haven't feed him the ones that have had a chance to eat the orange cubes yet.
I also got a cheap analog temp and humidity gauge from petco.
So what am I doing wrong? Tips on what else I can do for him? Does he look sick? Any help is very much appreciated!
