New to chameleons pls help!!!

I have a 6 month old veiled male chameleon. He is normally green with brownish yellow stripes. This is my first reptile and i don't know much about him yet. The main reason i posted this was because a couple days ago i began feeding him mealworms and now everynight he does this thing were he turns very bright green gets little spots all over his body and has yellow stripes on him. When he does this he extends his tail in and out very rapidly for a couple of seconds.. Pls help if im hurting my chameleon in any way i want to know.

my veiled does the same when he is around a female, like a courtship. something may be stimulating him. my veiled turns the most beautiful colours and does thesame with his tail. i doubt he is ill, maybe just confused
