New T5 light!

Since installing my T5 light, my juvenile chameleon sits under the light most, if not, all day. He usually looks to get out of his vivarium a few times a day, but not since the new light was fitted! Is this normal behaviour? I must admit, the light is more intense, than the Exo Terra twin coiled canopy lights were!

I'm just like you! I had the exo terra dual compact canopy then changed to the correct t5ho

I have a permanent free range that sort of interlocks with the cage - I mean whenever mine are inside the cage - which is like less than half the day - they are in their basking spots which is 10 inches below the uvb. Studies show that chameleons can sense uvb, so he/she could just be reacting (and probably enjoying) to the new uvb. It could be anything though. I wouldn't be worried. Since it's more powerful he's probably just taking in the more powerful rays.

Many thanks for your reply. I was just getting concerned as to why he wasn't coming out! He usually likes to sit on my windowsill looking out! Another question, sorry to keep pestering you. I rarely use my basking heat lamp. The vivarium sits around 22 to 25 degrees, which I read, is OK. Whenever it's on, he opens his mouth to try and cool off!
