New setup.

errrr...... That was whatever was on National geographic channel.;)

As for the hanging, no hole were drilled in the cage just the pot. I ran the line thru the edge of the screen around the alum frame is all. It leaves the cage itself completly untouched. When I get home ill try and get a picture to help ya.:)

I got the humidity up to 80%. :) Doesn't last long though.

edit: I take that back - it's still at about 80%. Yay!

Im thinking the paper towel will get really soggy/messy and be more trouble than its worth, your probly better off without it once you organise water runoff., Looks good :)

Syn,

Get a mistking starter set up with 1 nozzle and say good by to all your humidity issues. Line the bottom if the cage with plants..pothos, umbrellas..etc they will catch the water and keep the humidity up. The temps are better stabilized and the cham is guaranteed to always have water accessible. I am running a single nozzle in each of my 18x18x36"s and it cycles 8 times a day for 1:30 per session. I have the bottom lined with plants and have no cage drainage system. The water is collected via the plants and I don’t have any water collecting in the bottom whatsoever. The water is dried out by the time the next cycle begins. The initial investment is going to run you around $150 or so, but you will feel confident and secure knowing that your cham is safe and hydrated 24hrs a day. That $150 is well worth it for piece of mind. I know your a student and I'm sure if your like the rest of us you don’t have bags of money lying around to throw endlessly at everything you see, but seriously, it will be a well made investment. :)

btw:: the systems are completely upgradeable and expandable at any time. Add another cage....$15 gets you another nozzle and your done!!;)

I'm trying to get one but at the moment I can't afford one at full price. I posted in the Wanted Section for a used one for cheaper, if possible.

Syn, I was looking around on another one of your post and saw your sig....

I had no idea he passed, Im really sorry. Are you looking for another cham at the momment? This post leads me to believe so. Once again I'm really sorry about the situation, let me know if I can help.;)

It's alright, quite understandable, didn't take it that way anyways.

I'm not going to look for another cham. Something went wrong in a single day and until I make sure 100% that my veiled is good for a while I won't get another.

I read abit on your other thread, and see that you talked of lots of plants to help humidity, and this is true it works! I would slowly purchase some large plants for your room and just put them on the outside of the cage, but around it. All you have to do is keep these plants watered. With that, through their leaves they will help emit local humidity, plus if you do it right It will be appealing to you visually from afar also? Also as someone said in that thread use large leaved plants for the exterior application for better humidity transfer> :)

Titan - I never realized plants outside the cage would help just as much as inside the cage, and I feel stupid for not realizing it.

I have a ton of pothos plants that are too big that we have.. Now I have the perfect place for them!

i like the hanging plant one myself it looks prettier? lol

you could always work the vine in around it too

I have a hanging plant in my room, its pretty much about 3 - 4 feet away from her cage, and sometimes when im in there practising guitar, i let her climb on the hanging plants.

:)

It's the fake wood stuff, it's wood but it's not nice wood.. Hard to explain, but it's not 100% real. It's like the sticker stuff. The "wood-look" is a sticker.. haha I'm confusing myself trying to explain it.

Anyways what I'm trying to say is it's a sticker, and it's already coming off as old as it is, but thanks Julirs. :p

Anyone got a link for me that WalMart has a plastic tub or something for this?

lowes, walmart, home depot all have the plastic thing

what they are, are those things that roll under your bed. If your cage is 18x18x? it will fit. They are made at 19.5

wish i could find one for a 28x28. custom built stuff almost always results in more custom built stuff being needed =P

They lie. It's actually about 17".

Syn, do they have Menards out there?

IF so you can get a HUGE bag of Marble rocks for about $4.00 to cover the soil of the plants with. The tiny bags of river rock from home depot are expensive.

By huge, I mean like a bag of cement mix huge. should be enough for all your plants. They have river rock, but you have to wash the river rock real well. What they dont put on the bag is River rock COVERED IN ICKY nasty smelling MUD :)
