New setup

Rhea’s mum

Established Member
Hi all

So it’s been 2 weeks now since I got Rhea. Her new enclosure came yesterday and have just finished it off. Just a tad different to what her previous owner put her in. First picture is the old enclosure and then the new one.
she is already exploring everything and seems to be loving the extra room and live plants.
As you can see from the middle pic it wasn’t exactly the biggest compared to her new one.
?

HUGE improvement! Good job! She must be quite the happy cham. ? Just an idea...I have attached my fake plants to the outside of my enclosures to provide my chams with a feeling of more privacy.

Very good! People do not realize how very small the chameleon kit enclosure is until they get a 2x2x4. It is quite a difference.

The real plants are wonderful. Only thing I would suggest is pulling the rope out. These do not always dry out completely and also chams can get their nails caught up in them. I would switch it out for real branches from non sap producing trees. You can even cut these from your yard.

Per the UVB lighting. You want this either to go across the cage corner to corner or side to side down the middle more. This way you get a better area of UVB.

Thanks guys. After finally figuring out the cabling and extension lead the uvb is now running diagonally across.
thanks for the info about the rope. I will keep an eye on her with it as we don’t actually have any trees near us, I’ll have to go on a long walk to find some trees that aren’t next to the road and aren’t sap producing.
