New Setup now or when settled??

Hi all, we have just got a new Charmeleon and he came with a setup but we are thinking about getting a new one as we are not sure the current one is going to last, as he has just moved to our should we let him settle in then change or while he is still settling in make the change now??

Hey there welcome to the forum. Where did you get the chameleon from? Can you post a few pics of the chameleon and the setup it is in from the lighting down?

There are benefits if you have a temp cage like this that you can retrofit if needed until you can get a permanent setup. But you still have to hit all the major husbandry points with the temp cage. Additionally depending on where you got this one from. Getting a fecal sample to ensure there is not a parasite load while in a temp cage is much easier than having to do an overhaul cleaning on a permanent cage set up.
