Should I add anything else to his cage? I am way happier and so is he with the screen cage seems to keep him happier then the glass one did. So glad I was able to find a place that could let me know that he needed to be in a screen cage because we want him to be happy..

Also I have a question when he sits under his light he will have his mouth half open is this normal for them? Or is he just pissed that I am standing by him? He has had a big day getting a new set up and everything.

He has NOTHING to climb on
I would go grab some branhes and vines from outside and throw them in there. He needs to be able to get anywhere in the cage, without climbing the screen.

Holding their mouth open is their way of thermoregulating when they are too hot. This should not happen.

IMO:
The animal had its mouth open because it was too hot, it was too hot, because the only place it had to bask, was directly on the bulb, on the cieling of the cage.

The waterfall and substrate dont do anything benificial for the chameleon
In fact, they pose health hazards.

The waterfall will be where he wants to poo.
If he does so, and then drinks the water, well you get the idea.

Substrate can be ingested, and cause impaction. It also makes more of a mess. A bare floor is best IMO.

might want to get rid of the waterfall. they are a breeding ground for bacteria. and no need for the substrate. he might eat it and become impacted. other than that i think its coming along nicely! maybe throw some more vines in there and a live plant and you should be good.

Thanks for the input I will go get some more vines/plant and get rid of the other things we don't want to cause him harm. from what we had from the start this is so much better. I am glad I can get input on how to make this new cage of his safe and how it should be!!
