Transitioned to an 18x18x36 reptibreeze a few days ago from a small glass enclosure. Rico may still be getting adjusted but I feel like his color has been duller since moving into the screened cage, seems to also be a little less active. Temps are good. Went from a 75 watt to 100 watt for basking. did go up in the uvb light... Is there anything that I should be concerned about.... Can a cham have too much uvb? Also went from plastic to live plants... Noticing more frequent open mouth while basking... Just nervous I may be doing something wrong. Almost seems like he was happier in the small, glass enclosure.

Gaping usually means your temps are too high. How are you measuring your temps?

Besides checking the temps, it also takes some time for them to adjust. For him, the move is into a whole new territory that could be dangerous.

I have a thermometer connected to the highest basking spot. It is 90. I guess I could take the 100watt out and see if behavior changes with the 75 watt in....

I think a 75 watt would be better, even in my 2ftx2ftx4ft cage all I have is a 75 watt basking bulb. For my panther, unless you have a really cold house I would keep the 75 watt.
