So it's ok if he nibbles on the kalanchoe but not the ficus...or??The Kalanchoe is absolutely safe. There are "Safe Plant Lists" that include Ficus elastica and some that do not. Obviously people have had success with them so I would just keep an eye on the plant and make sure your guy is not nibbling off large portions of the plant.
I'll keep an eye on her. I have gave them to her yet. Waiting until they get slightly bigger.IMO, I believe you should watch your chameleon just to make sure there are no adverse reactions to the plant. Kalanchoe is okay, in fact, don't be surprised if your veiled obliterates this plant. It is basically all water. I think it is important to pay attention to your chams regardless of what a compiled list tells you is okay or not okay. Just because my cham has been completely fine with a plant in his enclosure doesn't meant that will be the same case with yours. I'm not saying that it's so toxic that your cham will die, but even is the plant causes irritation, why use it. Too often we think that information is across the board. Research helps us make informed decisions, while daily care and monitoring gives us key specific information in regards to our individual chameleons. Just my opinion.
