Alright so I went to wal-mart and got myself a Ficus, and a pothos. Which I already switched to organic dirt (My very own organic compost might I add)
Just to get all the ferts out of the leaves. They are small so that they can grow to the size of the cage too. (I'm not getting my guy till August but I still like to be prepared
)
I also got a new cage design
So hear me out and give suggestions at free will please everybody! I am making him a cage that will be four feet tall, four feet wide, and two feet deep. I am putting in 3 shelf supports to divide up the four feet so every foot I can put in a slide in shelf. that way when he gets older I can just slide it down one. I am also putting in a vertical support so when he is teeny weeny It will be a cage that is small enough to fit him. The back will be plywood to keep in more moisture, and three sides will be 1/4 x 1/4 mesh. Metal of course so crickets cannot escape.
There will be two front doors that lock on the top and bottom to the frame, and a two foot by four foot by two foot shelf/ cupboard under the cage to store all of his stuff and his drainage bucket. Everything will also be coated in a waterproof clear coating to make it all waterproof, durable, and not fungus friendly. I am also putting Eco-carpet on the bottom to collect his droppings lol and so that the water can drain through it if there's a lot. Otherwise i'm just gonna change it every 2-3 days. I am also getting a pretty awesome glass vase to wire to the side for a feeder bin. The top is wide and its not clear so he won't try and stick his tongue to the side, but it'll still be slippery for the crickets and washable and re-usable and cricket-chew resistant. That way it'll look nice without being a sour-cream container lol.
I will have my UVB and Basking light on the top of the cage because the top will also be made of wire mesh.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?? :O
