New Parsons enclosures and sunrooms-work has begun.

I thought I'd begin a new parson shed thread as this will be ongoing,
@Remkon I hope you will post how you are getting on too:)
Well work has begun on the new Parson shed- it's 12x8ft and most of it will be given over to them, with enough room for the xanth as this will be a 'cool' shed with good ventilation and cooler lights etc, more room, more misting, more fogging, bigger laying box, etc
This is the second shed I have- the first Rep 1 as it is known will revert back to day geckos, snakes and the veiled will inherit the parsons old house and outdoor enclosure so everyone gets an upgrade in enclosure size,

The first shed- Rep 1- it's not quite as organised now due to a severe case of parsonitis.

Outside on Rep 1 actually 14x8ft and before two 6ft glasshouses went on for the parsons to get outdoors, and a bit of a shabby chic vibe going on,

Then in January i was able to afford another shed- they are really nice quality,
but in the Spring first I had to get some tree surgeons in work on a large oak above the shed

Then we put Rep 2 up in May- now we are roofing, insulating with 70mm celotex and cladding the inside, there's so much to do,

Internal layout had two options- both had pros and cons in equal measures but I opted for one that i hope will be good- I'll share that when they start taking shape- there were a lot of factors that are too lengthy to explain, logistics of handling, access outdoors, access for me, it's not perfect but I think it gave them the best deal.

Hopefully in the next month it will be done, then internal painting, electrics and then the start of the enclosures and outdoor enclosures accessed through hatches from indoors.
I am hoping the person who originally submitted this meme won't mind me adding it here again- I loved it so much I printed a copy and pasted it in Rep 1- Oh how true!

They're killing me! :LOL::ROFLMAO:

Rep1 looks great, I'm sure Rep2 will be awesome.
My project is smaller and less interesting, I don't nearly have as many enclosures as you have either. ;)

Great work so far! Looking forward to see more.

I'm still waiting on the invoice for my shed, have send them a reminder today.

Looking good Tabitha! It's really nice to see others doing so much work for their chameleon's. When we kept parsons my husband always built them a room of their own.

Thank you Jann, a parson room would be cool- no room on the house sadly so has to be a outdoor building, It's a lot of work for sure and they are demanding but today Parsnip took 3 roaches one after another from my fingers, my hand and arm were around a door so he couldnt see me but could see right to my shoulder , Iv'e never ever been able to feed him like that before- has fed from fingers but could only see my fingers not hand then so I was amazed and astounded. Making progress- and it only took me a year.:)

That looks great Twitchet! Both the reptile room you have now and the one you are building. I am going to look forward to how things progress.

Thank you Jeremy, they are o.k at the moment but I want them to have more room, better and more varied branches, better walkways, nice lot of plants, can't wait, should be great, light and cool and really nice to look at, I'm planning on using bathroom shower screens as the doors so will be full glass and good viewing and easy clean.
Means I can get my day geckos, darts and others sorted and move a few out from the house too! :D:eek:
Thanks for your comments. Will update as I go.

I have got a large aquarium room that is similar to what you have and are building. After having the aquarium room for a number of years I have one main thing to say. Having all the herps or insects out of the main house is great! Plus keeping a room just designed for keeping insects/herps/aquariums is ideal.

I spend double the time I really need to walking back and forth to the various locations of animals with lots of different food types and water etc so will be great to have them back in one place, or two really, no more locust escapees or pots of fruit fly cultures indoors either! :)
So yes Rep 1 warmer, geckos, snakes, veiled, insects
Rep 2 cool, parsons , xanth, boehmei maybe;)
Cheers:)

Ya, my wife still needs to acknowledge it's will be a herp room... Imo it will be a manshed with my animals, their food and all of my tools in 1 spot.
I can't stash as many enclosures as rep 1 since my shed will have doors in the long side that will be 180cm wide. Great for summer tho to let heat out.

It will be great to not have feeders in the house. It will also free up a whole room in the house

Sometimes I realize just how silly keeping chameleons must sounds to those weird people who don't love them. Considering all the work we put into just having them accept us being in the room or god forbid eat out of our hands?XDDD lmao love the grumpy babies <3

Maybe I should start comparing them to clothes so my wife will understand from experience that they need a lot of space and cost quite a bit of money. You also need to have a lot of em for no obvious reason. Really, any excuse to buy more is a valid one!

'You have two handbags why do you need another?'
'You have two chameleons why do you need another?'
Yes I think that could work!
I still think my idea of sneaking the baby red tegu in under the guise of it being a funny looking bearded dragon could work! :D:ROFLMAO:
