New Panther Ambilobe Missing The Mark?

Hey All,

So.... My two panther chameleons (male and female) showed up yesterday after being shipped via Reptile Express.

They both appear to be extremely healthy eating lots and have witnessed them both drin 5 to 8 times each so far.

My concern is with my Male....

He has eaten 10 to 13 crickets, 1 horned worm and 3 to 4 silk worms, in the last 30 hours of having him out of the box and in his new enclosure.

The strange thing is he has no accuracy with his toung, and constantly misses his food, to the point where he has to get close enough to grab them directly with his mouth, and even the horned worm he grabbed it with one "hand" so he could get his mouth on it.

What do you folks make of this?

Hey, good to see you again, thanks for replying.

Yup, I have called.

I don't want to expose the name right now, but, it was from a reputabl breader.

He thought it may be from him feeding from a dish, and I am not. Susiquently his toung was tired.
Altho I see the point l, I did explain that we offered food (the horned worm) 3 to 4 hours out of the box and he tried to take it, but missed the same way he is still now.

We talked about diet and then he advised to try feeding from a dish, keep an eye on him, and, see if it clears up in a day or two.

Other than that he is quite active in his enclosure and is eating good, as well, drinking often (I see him drinking quite often, female as well).

He did poop today... urites (spelling?) Looked good

I wonder if maybe he got a mild eye injury or irritation during shipping. You’ve let the breeder know right away, which is perfect just in case. Hopefully it is something that will clear up on its own quickly.
