So this weekend I'm planning on buying a male panthert chameleon around the 3 month age and for a starter cage was going to buy a 16x16x20 or a 16x16x30 just wondering what is best size that he won't outgrow to early and I plan on getting 24x24x48 in like 8 months I just want to make sure I get the right size for the first one

This is entirely up to you, if you aren't concerned about money you can put him in a small cage and upgrade slowly as he grows or just buy a adult cage. Some babies can be overwhelmed in a large cage so make sure you have alot of hiding spots and try and cup feed so it makes food easier to spot and keep tracking of how much he is eating.

I wouldn't recommend placing a little 3 month old in a 24x24x48 cage right off the bat. If you are planning on getting the 24x24x48 in 8 months so your panther will be close to a year old prior to moving him I would recommend the 16x16x30 as the the 16x16x20 will be too small for him when he hits like 6-7 months old.
