Hi we just got a new oustalet's chameleon, and its a very small female juvenile. Im wondering if theres any special needs of this species? cause weve kept a veiled and hes very healthy so we appear to be doing it right. Is there anything we should change to suit the needs of this new young whipper snapper that we have? thanks :)!

No, but they dont have the same requirements (temp. humidity) if thats what you were meaning, however youngins require the same care as adults besides extra calcium for good bone growth, good luck with this species, their one of my favorites. They are such characters!

Whoa there-they actually do have similar care requirements as Veileds for inside keeping! One difference is that when I bring my Veileds inside during the dead heat of summer, the Ousties seem to thrive outsie in the heat and humidity-where Veileds can get URI. They come from a coastal Madascascar climate extremely similar to ours right here. Also-Ousties do drink a bit more than the Veileds. So other than misting, really no difference in keeping.
I had the pleasure of selling that little Ousties girl to bimac6-I hope she does well for you! :)
