New Nosy Mitsio Pictures

The mitsio in my avatar lateral line would turn blue once in awhile. But that was it.

Good point... I probably should have specified further... I have seen lateral lines turn bluish on just about every morph of panther...
Blue barring, similar to an Ambilobe is what I was referring to.
Blue barring on a Mitsio is not a good sign in my opinion...
but, that being said, I can only speak from personal experience and I could be wrong.

At 1:54min it switches from the vid to a snap shot of one with blue bars for about 5 seconds then to one with red bars for another few seconds. Then back to video of the island.

looks green to me...:)
I really cant add much to distinguishing mitsios. Never owned one..

Op: Good looking boy and girl you have. Your child looks like she really enjoys them also..Thats where its at!

The one in the snapshot is definitely blue bar. The one persuing the female is a red/green mix. The original one is all green with no barring. All three flavours are in the vid, blue bars, green bars and red bars. Chuck posted a pic a while back of a WC male he had. That was a good example of a blue bar.

i dont know what too think i just have it stuck that he is possibly cross so i second guess it he has times he look pure and times he look cross but there is such a wide colour span in mitsio alone that maybe he was odd ball in a clutch.
from where the cham is from and the persons i spoke to about his background (years of experience in the trade and reputable) i have too believe that hes pure and treat him as such. and i think i am going to breed him and keep the whole first clutch for however long they take too colour up see what we get. if cross, i sell as cross and only breed my other male(soon to be purchased). Is it possible he just looks a little differrent then his siblings thats why he ended up a public sale ?:confused::confused::confused::confused:

here is a question. if i bread him and her and just sell the offspring as cross and buy another pure male and breed it to female offspring and so on and so on how many generations would i have to breed pure mitsio to sonny's blood line to bring the line back to pure or is it possible?

Youll never get back to pure! but you will get more of the mitsio gene, although of course there will be throw backs in some instances, one or 2 looking like Nosy Be. He is a very beautiful cham, and would make some good looking offspring. So long as you label them as cross then theres no problem.

I only mentioned it because you were going to breed. Last thing the Mitsio needs is crosses diluting the already limited gene pool. If the female is 100% Mitsio, then buying a pure male would be your best bet, but dont breed her with this one, she may retain sperm and lay egs from him later when you think its from mitsio. Also, its better for her health if she doesnt lay, so save her for a good male. ;)

Now that we see more pic's you can tell something is up but you cant from the first picture. The expert thing was uncalled for.

I wasnt referring to the OP as the "experts". I was referring to the people who were gonna come on here and say i was completely wrong as they breed Mitsio, owned them for years etc etc so they know everything, as with the great Faly debate. The OP has clearly had concerns from the start so i was putting them straight before they breed them, sell them at Mistio prices then have problems later when people complain they dont look like Mitsio or breed them again and again, diluting the gene pool and limiting Mitsio even more thus raising the price higher on pure Mitsio.

I personally dont mind as im in Europe so Mitsio are abundant here, and CHEAP! I pay less than 175 Euro for a good mitsio. Ive seen them for less.
