Hi all,

I'm Jon and I just joined this forum. I am not yet a cham owner, which is one of the reasons I am here; I want to be completely educated before I purchase one. I have done plenty of research, and I have corresponded with Vincent at Screameleons (VERY helpful), and I just want to be as ready as I can be before making a purchase. So I look forward to learning all that I can and I hope no one minds if I ask some questions from time to time. Thanks, and looking forward to talking to you all!

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you will be a great chameleon owner. Kudos on getting as much knowledge before hand. That is the way to do it. There is always someone here to answer every one of your questions.

Well it sounds like you are working with good people. We have some great people here also, so welcome to the forum and get ready to learn just by reading the different posts.

Welcome :)

Welcome to our group....It's really nice to meet people who join this group and do the research before making that first purchase. You are ensuring a much more enjoyable process of learning. At your own pace, instead of in a panic after the first purchase like many of us experienced (me included). What type are you interested in?

John S Nice to see you here, I am new to the chameleon world also. I just purchased a ambanja from vincent off of screameleons. Really looking forward to having the new addition to my home! This site has been very helpful to me for info, insight, and experience.

I think I'm going to go for a panther. I want something relatively hardy as my first experience, but something with some striking colorations. I haven't purchased anything yet. I'm the kind of person that if I buy a cage, it will eat at me until I fill it up with everything else, including the cham. I need to get all my info straight before I go ahead and do that. I've learned a ton already just in a few hours. I know a lot of the basics, but its the other little particulars that will come in handy. For example, I have a bearded dragon and I explored all of the basic info. Then something quirky happened that I didn't find in any books or caresheets and it took me a while to find a knowledgeable person online that has had a similar problem. Its nice to read about all these types of things before hand!

Well one thing is for sure, I have yet to see a question on here that hasn't been answered. There are lots of knowledgable people on here. Also, be aware that chameleons are addicting and you may find yourself buying more then just one :D

Welcome to the forum Jon
I started with (and stayed with) panthers. Im sure you'll enjoy having one, having done your research and knowing what you're getting into :)
