New member and new to chameleons (help me out!)

Please don't get overwhelmed and leave. I know that I feel like a kindergartener who got dropped off at a College sometimes....hang tough. As abrupt and rude as some posters might come across, they care about your chameleons and want to help you....they just sometimes express it badly.

Also, they will use scientific terms that are meaningless to you. I haven't decided what the motivation for that is. I just know that I open a new browser window and google it to find out what it means...

stay strong and do the best you can for your chameleon...that's all anyone can really ask of you.

What happened to reading books and doing real research before purchasing.

Would you buy a car without knowing how much milage it gets? its horse power? how many doors it has? what type of gas it takes?..........

@OP, as great as this forum is, you need to get yourself a few good books, that will teach you about the type of chameleon you have purchased in order to understand its place in nature, the environment it lives in so you can begin to imagine mimicking it, THEN proceed to a forum to ask for tips and practical knowledge as to how to do that.

Chameleons aren't the most forgiving creatures when it comes to incorrect or poor husbandry.

as another member said, walk before you run.

Hey stay away from google searchs and wiki searchs try to stay on this sight even thought some of it you will learn you dont agree fully with and you will have your own methods of husbandry, you need to do alot of reading:rolleyes:

Buy Some books on chams also. thats where I started yrs ago. Ken Kalisch and sean McKeweon (sorry if i misspelled) wrote a very informative book that gives beginers an overview on Jacksons, panthers, veiled, & parsons. I would buy that and read it cover to cover. Esp the jackson section. Good Luck and ask questions we will help. Just keep them seperated you are no where close to being able to breed these guys.
