NEW Mansion And Problem!?

Hey everyone,

I just got finished building my male velied (about 1yr old) a new enclousre that I hope he will love. Now i must say i would not consider myself an expert in any way, this is the first thing i have ever really built. I think it came aout really well and since i read these pages all the time looking for ideas i thought i would share what i have done with the rest of the community.

The cage is 5ft tall 4ft wide an 2ft deep. I used 2x2 for the frame and 1/4 in mesh for the caging material. i have a hanging pothos and a large ficus as well as 24ft of exo terra biovine. 2x 18in zoomed 5.0 and one zoomed 75 watt baskinglamp. all in all i think it will make a wonderful home for my little guy.

PS side question, i put my guy in there yesterday and he has not eaten since being in his new home, he also seems to go hide in the ficus when i get close to check him out. I understand there is some aclimation time involved but how long should it go untill i should worry?

Thank you to all future responses and to everyone else who has posted for i may have stolen some ideas. :). Please feel free to ask any questions too, i would love to share what i have learned.

Awesome job, I built mine as well. Its way more satisfying when you build a home the cham digs! I wouldnt worry just yet, give him a day or so to figure out he is alone in the enclosure and the space is his own. Just establish his drip spot so it can at least find water, his hunger will return in no time.
