so he is only about a month old? Where did you get him? What are you housing him in? He can eat pinhead crickets and fruit flies. The feeders have to be small. He will need a uvb light a 5.0 tube light like a Reptisun. His basking light should be very low wattage so it is not too hot for him. A regular housebulb like a 25 watt. Do you know about supplementing and gutloading your feeders? What about misting and dripping water for hydration?
Didnt the seller provide you with any care instructions?
Also, I dont know any breeders who will sell someone a veiled that
young!!
There are stickies in the chameleon husbandry section that you need to read and you may have to go shopping to get what you need to keep your little one healthy and happy.
Here is my personal check list I go over when expecting a new cham:
proper size screen cage
UVB 5% Reptisun T8 fluorescent bulb and fixture
clamp type dome fixture with ceramic socket for bulb
several bulbs for basking, 50, 60 and 75watts (u will need to experiment)
a few good thermometers
a good hygrometer
a large jug and some tubing to make a dripper
a spray misting bottle
several kinds and sizes of fake vines, branches, vines with and w/o leaves, and more branches.
A home-made cricket feeder (check out YouTube for instuctions)
calcium dust with no D3
Herptivite by Rep-Cal
Repashy Calcium Plus
Place a order for 500 crickets, some wax worms, some silk worms, and some blue bottle fly spikes.
Grocery store list:
carrots, kale, mustard greens, oranges, apples, grapes, sweet potato and squash. Take them home, wash them off, chop them up and make a nice big batch of "cricket salad" to gut load my cricks for at least 2 days before feeding to my pet cham.
You can also offer some of the cricket salad to your cham.
Just stick some in a bowl and stick it in his cage.
If I have all the above, I am ready to receive my new friend
