The substrate tray is designed to slide in and out of the lower mini-door (as seen in the picture above). The water tray is ideal for catching drippers, misters and water feature overflow inside the cage itself (see the picture below). Since someone from these boards was not exactly sure how the water tray worked (the picture can be a bit confusing) - the plastic bottom that comes with the cage is still used like normal. The water tray goes underneath the cage, so it works perfectly with the removable bottom that is still there. Picture just doesn't show the plastic bottom of the cage (it is like that so you can see the water tray). Hopefully that helps explain how it works. We have had a great response to these from chameleonforums - so thanks guys. They are a great addition to our cages!
