New leachianus gecko pics!

Thought I would share this photo collage of my leachie (Armani) to show how much he's grown over the 2 years that I've had him. Both pics were taken on the same Christmas hat.

Miss Lily....I am enthralled with your leachie. This is one of top reptiles that I have always wanted to care for...I've just never taken the plunge. What locale is he? Completely beautiful by the way!

Armani is gorgeous! He has really grown up! I've never seen a leachie in person. I have some mossy leaf tail geckos, and love just watching them. :)

Thank you! I have no papers for him but he was sold as a Bayonnaise. He is awesome! They can be quite stressful as they grow really slowly and he really didn't eat well to start with. The last year has seen him got a lot and he's now over 140g at around 3 years old. Out of all my reptiles, if I was told tomorrow that I could only keep one, I would have no hesitation in keeping him. There's something about them!

Cool! You should post some photos of your leaf tails! Which ones are they? Sadly, leachies are quite secretive so I see him the least out of all the geckos (I have 2 adult cresties and 5 babies).

Aww, I've always considered getting a few cresties. They're cute and full of personality!
The leaftails I keep are Uroplatus sikorae. I have a trio and about 21 babies. Eventually I'd like to branch out and try some of the other Uroplatus.

Awww, you have some 'frilly chins'!! I love those! One day I want another leachie and a Tokay. No more chams for me, they don't live anywhere near long enough. I still have my l'il Jackson by, Toby, but no more chams now.

I can appreciate that. Geckos are just awesome reptiles to care for. I had a trio of Tokays that I grew very fond of and they all lived to be over 11 years old..the oldest living to 13 years old. I would very much like to get a leachie though. Would you mind if I asked what kind of enclosure you keep your Bayonnaise in?

Not at all! He is now in an Exo Terra with the front half of the top covered to help with humidity levels. He's somewhere around 150g but he's not been willing to come out for a weigh in for a few weeks now. This is his enclosure, he 'moved in' in October and seems happy enough in there! I only wish I got to see him more often, they are very shy and secretive geckos. Tokays are on my wish list, I think they are amazing looking geckos! Leachies have the same bad reputation for being 'mean and nasty' as tokays, but it varies and there are exceptions to the rule. Mine is quite happy (once I can get him out) just to sit with me for a while but he doesn't like to be out for very long before he gets restless.

Here's a couple of progression photos of him that I put together a couple of days ago.

He is so amazing! Thank you for sharing the pictures with me. Tokays are great geckos to keep. Mine were extremely vocal with each other and full of personality. Not to mention, scary at times...Lol. They were incredible. Only the male would let me handle him...and not in a normal fashion. I had to coax him out of the enclosure and onto my hand. He was so huge and heavy...which makes me think how dense your guy must feel in hand. I just loved their colorations too. Beautiful. I will try to find some pictures of them to show you. I will be going to the NARBC next month where I hope there will be some Leachies available. Thanks again for sharing! Love the enclosure by the way.....lots of cork hollows and places to hide!
