Hi everyone! I just signed up for the forums this is my first post. I would really like some advice you all you experienced hobbyists on here :).

So I have decided on getting a male Jackson's Chameleon, I'm pretty experienced with herps in general but Chameleons are new to me. So my thoughts were to get the Exo Terra 24"x18"x36" screen cage which as far as I can find from the general internet is appropriate size for a Jackson's if anyone disagrees please holler at me. My biggest question was this though; I'm curious if anyone has experience with the reptisun T5 HO lights and fixtures? Is that too much for an enclosure this size? Does it matter? Any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to the Forums.

I'm guessing you are looking at get xantholophus? I would recommend the 24x24x48 for a male. Personally, I would ditch the Reptisun and go for Arcadia. They are just a better quality of bulb and really don't loose their effectiveness and strength as fast. Just my opinion.

I agree about the larger cage. For one thing, it gives the cham more options for moving farther or closer to the lights if he desires it, helps provide more of a temp and humidity gradient, and you can use larger bushier plants that he'll appreciate.

Yes sorry Xantholuphus was what I was looking at. OK so bigger cage. In that size would you all recommend the Dragon Strand Keeper series? They seem quite nice. Also I'll check the Arcadia lights out I really appreciate the advice guys :)
