the pictures aint the best but was wondering how i was doing so far since i am new to chameleons. he has a xl repti breeze cage a 100 wat red light 75 watt basking light and a 5.0 uvb light have a monsoon mister just dont know how often i should set the timer function on it as in the hours and duration

and ive also been useing calcium powder with d3 wich i just learned can hurt him but it was only two feedings i gave it to him in will that harm him he at like 12 that were dusted

Hello, welcome to the forum :) I never kept Jacksons myself, so I don't know the best supplement schedule. You will want a powder which is just Calcium (no d3) though. Most people use a 12 hour schedule for lights. You don't need any light at night.
You have a nice big cage, give him a lot more vines, branches and leaves :)
Here is a great video made by another forum member - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKTbUaOQ0aA

he sometimes gets stressed when the mister comes on it kinda worries me and it stays cold in my bed room below 70 so i have to keep a light on him

He'll get used to the mister, especially if he has more leaves to hide under. Chameleons need a drop in night time temps, but if it does get too cold then a ceramic heater is best. They have a parietal eye so even if his eyes are closed the light could be disturbing his sleep.

yea i know i gotta add more to the cage id like to find some type of big non toxic tree at least 3ft to put in the cage and some more live plants and some more larger vines and add on some extra nozzles to the mister cause it only can mist half of the cage and i got the whole set up for a steal i got the xl repti breeze and a brand new monsoon mister all for 100 bucks even

He can go down to the 50's at night. Do not use any light at night, not even the red one. Be sure your basking temps are not over 82 degrees and the bottom of the cage is in the low 70's. I use a mist king and it goes off 4 times a day for 5 minutes. My supplement schedule is as follows: calcium WITHOUT D3 2x per week, multivitamin 2x per month and calcium with D3 2x per month. I use a dripper that runs everyday along with the mist king and I am now working on adding a fogger as it is really dry weather right now.

so i can set my mister every 4 hours for 120 seconds? thats as far as it goes.and the plant situation what kind of live tree can i put in there that has height and good sized branches since i have a good size cage 4x2x2

The most common trees to use are ficus or schefflera (umbrella tree). I use the schefflera and pothos plants. If your guy will readily drink your misting plan could work. Mine tends to need more coaxing to start drinking so longer mistings are required.

he's kinda shy and wont drink in front of no one iv only seen him drink once i always try to watch him to make sure he is okay and he is geting what he needs but i still gotta figure out where he drinks from and keep a mister on that spot so it stays moist hes gotta be drinking cause he doesnt look dehydrated but i am new to this and he is pretty active but what do i know this is my first ever cham

man you need, alot!!!! more plants, all that space you have in the cage is useless för the chameleon if there is no plants to climb on

i know i gotta sell my ball python so i can go get him some more plants asap and a new uvb since the other one just blew this morning ive been shareing my bearded dragons uvb with my cham

Most people don't use substrate. I have tile in one cage and a plastic floor in my other cage.

Congrats to you on your first googley-eyed baby! Indeed... no substrate! Unless you're using only paper towels, that is. With the mister on as much as was mentioned, though, not even paper towels would be wise.
