About the misting system, yes. The pump has a pressure switch on it. as it pumps the nozzle doesn't flow the same amount of fluid as the pump can flow. So the pressure builds, pump turns off, nozzle bleeds off pressure, pressure drops, pump turns on, pressure builds, turns off pump, nozzle bleeds pressure off and the cycle repeats. This is not bad for the pump.... I personally use an accumulator you can buy at an RV store or on eBay. I like it because this won't wear out the pressure switch and runs the pump for a few moments, then cycles it off till the accumulator runs out of pressure/water and needs to be refilled. Depending on the amount of time you mist, I am almost willing to bet the pump would come on, pressure the accumulator and not even come on again if you mist for only a couple of minutes at a time with one nozzle. My system is home made and runs 9 nozzles and the pump cycles on and off every 30 to 45 seconds I think. This is refilling a 24oz accumulator.
Here is a pic of my pump next to the accumulator.
My system is a mess..... but if you were to add an accumulator in your system it would be pretty simple. I have the pressure relief return line because sometimes I run dry and need to get the air bubbles out of my pump, accumulator and filter. When the valve is open it just draws water from the tank and pumps it right back. If i ran the system without bleeding out the air the capacity for water would drop.
As for the entire setup you have created, looks good! You have a female? You are aware of her needs for laying eggs even though the eggs aren't fertile?
