ambilobe panther would be the best i think for what you are seeking i would say buy a 24x24x36 screen cage right off the hop so you dont have to buy two cages you need a 5.0 uvb bulb a linear style works best also a basking light just a dome with a 40 w household bulb will be fine at first also you need a mister a dripper i would suggest live plant there is a good safe plants list on fl chams site lots of leaves lots of highways for him to climb around on hiding places (leaf cover) i would also suggest repashy calcium plus for dusting your crickets once a day and gut load your crickets for 24 hours before feeding them out there is a good gut load list somewhere on here i think the home page at the bottom in the blogs i believe collard greens mustard greens corrots thats a good start some one else can carry on for you i have to get some sleep welcome and good luck!!!:D:D:D also get a good digital thermometer and hygrometer basking temps around 80 at first 82 maybe and gradually raises as they get older 12 hour light schedule is what i use gradient temp 70-75 and the humidity i keep in the 60% range hope this helps tty again soo im sure have a good night

ad me as a friend and that way you will be able to ask for help any time never worrie about asking for help on here either we all started somewhere and we all respect that here just be sure to take the good advice and put it to use and you will do great!!!

Thats not much room to work with, a jackson, or carpet perhaps would do best with that space.

my chams do good in that space by all meens bigger is better but they dont need a castle its nice but alot of people dont even give them that i think that is just a fair cage if not my chams are all cramped but they seem to have alot of cruising space they dont even use lol

Welcome to the Forums, Good to see a fellow New Hampshirian on here! You going to the upcoming show in Manch? Anywho, going back to your original post, Your space is super limited which would mean that a panther or a veiled chameleon, two of the easier types to care for would be extremely cramped in that small condition, would you have an easier time using a hanging enclosure? I have managed to successfully house chams in hangers, such as this http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/explorarium.php

If you could manage something like that, it would allot more space for you cham.

Hopefully this helps you out slightly, i have experience with veils and not much with other species so i'll let this one go to the other members, but Welcome!

those are smaller then 2x2x4 i use them for my females to go outside no good for indoor cages

Great for a female Veil or for smaller cham species, she loves it. I use the large ones very successfully. Just beware of water collecting in the bottom, and over weight objects such as laying bins in the bottom, otherwise they are great, aside from difficulty reaching in to take out your cham.

Edit, Ps Froggie log, i agree carpets would work!

here is a direct quote from Exo Terra on the explorarium.

"The durable nylon provides optimal ventilation and allows ultraviolet rays from fluorescent UVB lights, or the sun, to penetrate deep inside the enclosure." the mesh is actually quite thin, and very ventilated.

Edit, Anywho, i do not wish to hijack this thread and would prefer to stay on the original subject of helping our new member.
