New here, but just in love with the pygmy chams!

Here is my enclosure. I am still working toward replacing the plastic vines with real vines. I am about 8 weeks into this adventure and have a couple corners growing live plants and vines.

We are crossing our fingers to get some captive bred babies out of this group of 1 male and 3 females. Two of the girls are looking a bit larger than a cricket dinner can explain!

Your enclosure looks good! Yes I agree that natural is the way to go with Pygs!

What size tank do you have them in? You have 1.3 of them in a single tank?

What do you have a substrate? It looks like coco husk?

2 of the females are from http://www.flchams.com. I ordered the male from http://www.backwaterreptiles.com and they threw in a surprise female with my order! The ones from Backwater appear to be smaller/younger than the others.

The substrate is just plain organic (zero chemicals added) soil from the local plant nursery with just a little peat moss mixed in with it. The enclosure is one of the medium/extra tall Exo Terra terrariums.

That's a somewhat cramped area for 4 pygmies. If you notice any pesting or bullying you need to separate them. Males can become very teritorial.

Also you may run into issues with drainage with only having soil as your substrate.

You will have no problem getting eggs from these guys as long as your male is mature. These little guys breed like crazy. The hard part is raising them. Be prepared to have VERY small feeders available.

Do you have a seperate tank for neonates?

Are you monitoring temperature and humidity? What light setup are you currently using?

Temps are pretty much room temperature at 70-72 degrees. Humidity is somewhere between 70-85%, depending on how much they are misted. I don't currently have any lights on them. I thought about placing a uvb on the top for a couple hours a week for the plants.

The soil seems to hold in moisture pretty well. I take off the top layer about once a week, add some new, then mix it all up. If I am lucky enough to get some eggs, I'll do an additional enclosure for the babies.

hi, nice cage but for my experience the live plants are the best thing with pygmys.
I prefer to do half of the terrarium with lot of plants where they can hide and the other half with a lot of branches and dry leaves.
for the soil i use a mix of peat, leaves, branches ,clay balls and sand.
For the light i use a neon at 2% uv and the scindapsus and chamaedora elegans haven't problems of grow

these are some example of my pigmy's cages :)
