Hello. My name is Jay. I live in Tillsonburg, ON. CA.
I have 2 female mali euromastix, 1 male bearded dragon and 1 male veiled cham named Waldo. I aquired Waldo from a breeder who lost the female and so did not want to take care of the male. He was 1 yr old or so when I got him.
I have to thank everyone for all the usefull information I have gathered from this site.

Welcome to the group! Waldo has very nice coloration. It's great that you adopted him and have other reptile experience. That will help you figure things out faster. Even though they are totally different species you have already learned some important basics by keeping the other reptiles. Is he a personable Veiled or a "grumpy" one? Keep on reading the posts here

He is somewhat grumpy in his cage. Not too bad when he is out.
It is very different going from caring for desert species to jungle ones. I have been making sure he gets lots of water through misting 3x's a day. I have never seen him drink though. He seems healthy and eats whenever food is presented. Mostly gut loaded crickets and occasional silk worms and some random veggies. I also replaced most of the fake plants with live ones. This forum has been invaluable to me for information. Chams are truly facinating.

Sounds like you are doing the right things. My male Veiled is not a big drinker either. The more silkworms or hornworms he gets, the less he drinks. The female drinks a lot. There are a lot of Canadians in the group. Let's hear a big round of applause for Canada

Hey cowchick. Sorry I did not check the forums before I left. I would have liked to carpool. Maybe for November?

I had a good time. I met alot of peopleI have read about online like the people from canadian silkworms. (Thanks for the extra info BTW. My reptiles are in heaven munching down on the worms I purchased). I got to see alot of reptiles that I have not seen before due to living in a small town. I noticed there were not alot of chams on display. If I was going for snakes or crested geckos I would have been in heaven.
I would have liked to pick up a few more things, but for animals I did not have a setup ready and that would be unfair to them. For products I did not like the fact you got no return policy and in most cases no reciept. If for eg. something did not work then you ar SOL. I did happen to get a good price on a 4ft UVB10 light. At 36 bucks that is way better than the local pet store but I just hope it works.


I think I will be a little more prepared for the next expo by knowing what animal I want and having the habitat setup and ready to go before hand. It was hard to not impulse buy as some of the reptiles were so cute. ( At least according to my girlfriend. Heh)

All in all I was very pleased with the whole day. An extra kudos to all the vendors having to deal with the throngs of people and the patience in answering question after question after question.

On a side note I am not sure how things work on the retail side but the guy in the back room who had the iguana's tied in a bag in a box really made me upset. I can't see anybody treating animals this way. But again I am not sure what the norm is.
