New Enclosure ... New Project

I have just today finished dressing this new enclosure ... any guesses as to what species of chameleon I think I am going to house in here?
This is a 20 gallon high with a 10" topper.
The dimensions are 76cm high x 76cm long x 30cm deep.
Hint: this thread is not posted in the pygmy enclosure forum.
I have yet to obtain the animals, but I have someone working on that for me.

Well that wasn't any fun:rolleyes:

Yes Benny.
I have wanted to work with the cristatus for years and am finally going to do it.
The enclosure is 100% live plants with bottom substrate/drainage exactly as I do it for the brevicaudatus enclosures.
I have double 5.0 UVB tubes and a good percentage of the ground and lower areas open. The planting is dense and I believe with this set up I will be able to maintain the desired humidity.
I am also introducing a big clean up crew:
sow bugs
springtails
tiny millipedes
snails
etc.
I have done a lot of research on the species (not much info out there actually) and believe I have created an acceptable habitat.
I am always open to suggestions;)
edit: this enclosure is intended for 1.1

bitarniatus?

Edit: NVM you posted wile I was looking up species. Dagnabit! lol

Cristatus are nice. It's going to be interesting to see how you do with them. I wish you luck.

I do think it could be deeper, but at this point I believe a pair will be fine in this.
If I feel like they are too crowded, I will create something larger ... nothing is ever finished here:rolleyes:.
I saw the ones on Kingsnake, at this point I have Mike looking for me ... one way or the other I will get them. In the meantime I will let the enclosure along with it's micro-fauna cultures grow.

Pretty neat setup you got there! I was actually going to ask montium, it sounded about right.

Good luck with this - where do you get your springtails etc? I will need some eventually for my crested geckos.

In the pots of houseplants aer always springtails. Catch some, put them in a cricket box etc. with coconut ground and give them for food small panes of cucumbers or potatos. Here in Germany we have special food for them, but I don't know if something like that exist in the USA too

I was going to guess Montium, too. I have had a male for about 4 months now (WC) and he's doing great. We lost the female just after she laid us 11 eggs.

You go Brad! Good luck and please post pics when you finally get them.

Yep. Got them in the closet as we speak. Although I just checked on them over the weekend and I lost 2 of them. Our heat and humidity here (Chicago) are going haywire and it teed me off b/c I also lost a clutch of lined leaf-tail eggs, a clutch of crested gecko eggs and 2 of our carpet chameleon eggs all in the same weekend. Bummer!

Wow Brad that is awesome, I can't wait to see the pair you will have, I have only seen these guys a few times in person at some herp shows, good luck and keep us updated and as usual lots of pics please.....

Yay Brad! Keep me updated on what type of progress you have. This is actually my same current project. ;) I haven't been able to find many people in the US to chat with about them. I wish there was more people to inquire about certain subjects with. I am excited for you! :)
