I have been considering getting a panther chameleon soon and have been doing a lot of research. I love the coloring and from what I've read the temperament. My issue is the price. I also like jacksons. I've been considering to build my own enclosure to save some money. I have a reptile expo next month in white plains ny so that's a possibility. Wondering if I should purchase supplies and Cham there or find the best deals around the net. Any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to the forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons and their care. I highly recommend getting your enclosure and supplies first. Have everything set up and tested BEFORE you buy your chameleon. You will want to make sure your temps, humidity and so for are correct for a couple of weeks before you put your chameleon in their enclosure. I highly recommend you buy from a small time breeder. You will have a better chance of getting a friendly healthy chameleon. We have a classified section here where members post chameleons for sale. Check out Canvas Chameleons website. They are awesome breeders that truly care about the pets. Here's a link to their site. http://www.canvaschams.com
I'm also attaching my blog for new keepers and another link to some good chameleon info. Chameleons are a high maintence pet to keep so be sure to have a nice little savings account built up for vet visits and so forth before you buy your chameleon.
