Hey all.
First Cham had it for 2 days, its a baby... it has little teeth that dont look grown yet about 2 1/2 inches? Im guessing around 2-4 months? This is my first lizard ever but chams are my favorite animal and I thought this would probaly be the best place to get more info instead of make me look stupid at the pet store. Anyways my chameleon pooped today I have been over feeding it a little (a diet of crickets) about 10 a day the pet store reccomended 5 and heavy on the lizard vitaman powder. there was a clump of half white hald orange pellet, this means shes dyhidrated. How do I fix this or is this the problem? Also it seems like she has a bit of a cough if chameleons get cough? I live in Northren Canada so its a little chilly and she spends most of her time next to the heat lamp. Anyways to help her in this regard? Lastly when I came home today she was for lack of a better word "clawing" at the door to her tank. I have been cautious about interacting with her I havnt picked her up. On the first day I got her she was a bit stressed and hissed and lunged when we tryed but I have had my hand in the tank at feeding since then and now she is no longer scared of human hands (that is no longer backs away) as soon as I opened the doors and moved her claw out of a notch in the door she climbed into my hand where I put her back near the heat lamp.
Any help or suggestions for a new owner?
