Question, would you recommend you take any new chameleon you purchase to the vet to check over, just in case... I had an issue with a corn snake years ago and wish that I had taken it to be checked when I bought it as it was I'll and died a few days later... When I took it to the vets he said it had been illmfor a long time before I got it so a bit apprehensive...

Welcome to the forum!
It's always good to see a new or future cham owner doing research.

The resources section of this forum is a hidden gem--there's so much valuable info there.
It can be found by clicking the green Resources tab above or this link https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/chameleons/
A few things you might want to know in advance of buying one:
Captive bred chams are very often much healthier than wild caught, so they typically are sold for more money.
Although everyone likes a baby, it isn't necessarily a good choice, especially for someone new to chams.
Jackson's chams, for example, are known to mysteriously and suddenly drop dead before the age of 6 months.

You can post clear close-up pictures of your new cham to the forum.

It is extremely important to be sure the vet really knows how to treat chameleons.
Vets who don't can actually harm chams.
If can be very stressful for a cham to have a vet visit but it may be worthwhile for your peace of mind.

If you're looking for a well-established, healthy captive born and bred juvenile Jackson's cham, presently I have a few available and you can see pictures of a few here https://www.chameleonforums.com/young-cbb-jacksons-females-133320/

As soon as I get him I will post pictures but no doubt will be posting pics of the viv to make sure it's set up properly ages before I bring him into it... Just want to make sure I have all the facts but I can't wait to get him they are fascinating animals... And as I work from home most days he will no doubt be spoiled... Xx
