Hey everyone, I got Leon about three days ago, he has been eating great (like 14 1/4 crickets a day) drinking alot, fairly active. Got him from Kilgour's chameleons, 5 month old ambilobe. I was just wondering if it was alright that he gets sorta dark when he basks. Also in his enclosure I have an umbrella plant, I mist alot, I also have the dripper running, but today and yesterday I noticed that the plant has been drooping and some of the leaves are dying also leaking from the bottom of the pot is brown water, Is there any way that i can keep up the misting and dripping without the plant getting over watered?
Do chams poop everyday?
On the top of his nose is a little white spot, does that mean hes going to shed?
Today I saw him rub his eye on the branch once, is that bad?
Also critique away

Getting dark while basking is probably just him trying to absorb heat. What is your temperatures?? The leaves dying could be from a number of things.. if you give it better drainage by mixing in some bark or rocks into the soil, that should help the plant. My chams usually poo every day, but not always. They usually poop every 1-3 days. Watch the white spot, if it grows and starts seperating, its probly a shed. And watch that eye too! im dealing with a nassssty eye infection

my basking spot temp. is at about 85, the umbrella plant area is at about 75, i only saw him rub it once, so hopefully thats okay. Should i add like river rocks

Putting the rocks at the bottom of the pot will help the water in the soil to drain thru. Putting the rocks over the top of the soil will keep the little guy from munching the soil, which i have witnessed mine doing, and kind of scares me a little. Id rather him eat what i feed him. Your temps sound good. And yea, just watch his eye.

Is there anyway i can keep the plant from absorbing alot of water through the soil, because i think thats whats killing it. The tag said to water 2-3 times a week, ive been having to do it everyday with the mistings.

Hmm, you could like cover the soil with something so the mist wont even hit it..?
