At last, the new chameleon has arrived! He got here about 30min ago and is now hiding at the very top back of his new cage. :) But I did get a picture of him on my hand before putting him inside:

We really like him, and my BF has named him Morpheus. :D There are a few concerns with the cage, but I'll bring those up elsewhere.

He is from Chad and Darci at TikiTiki! They are the BEST and will be getting a huge 5 star review from me this afternoon. :D

I am in knots right now, I'm so nervous about him... but I guess that's normal.

He looks good! I'm sure he'll be biting your fingers off in no time!

Haha... so true with thoses vieleds..:D

They are fiesty little suckers, but you have to love them.....even after they take a chunk of meat off your finger.:)

He's awesome, thanks for sharing!

:D Thanks for the comments all.

Actually, according to Chad this little guy is notorious for being very calm and laid back. Which suits us fine since we've had our fill of aggressive, nippy reptiles. :) He seems pretty tough, though, since he slid down a vine earlier all the way to the floor but climbed back to the top on the screen right away. I don't think the combo of having loose shed skin on his feet and a new unfamiliar cage is a good one for him, but he's adjusting.

he's looking good, did he heart himself sliding down the vine?

Nope, no apparent injuries from meeting the bottom of the cage. A few moments after landing, he found the screen at the back and climbed up to the top again. :)

Had a brief scare just now though: I came home from an errand and heard a loud crash in the cage! I checked the bottom...and one of the bottom saucers of the hanging plants had fallen off from water weight.
I looked around for Morpheus but couldn't find him (as most of you well know). After a frantic scanning of the cage, I saw him right in front of my eyes. :D He found his ficus and apparently likes it.

Gorgeous cham! ;) He gets those clumsy falling genes from his Dad!

Ah! So that's the reason. :D Now I feel better knowing it's not just him. ;) Thanks for having such a great line, Juli! I'm so glad to have one of them.

He's doing well so far. Spent the night in his Ficus tree and headed right to the basking spot first thing after I'd finished misting and changing dripper water. Things should be ready for the cage move this evening once my BF and neighbor get home from work. :)

Thanks for all the great comments! We think he's quite the pretty boy.

His Dad and brother that I have held back are both still friendly as can be-I hope yours keeps that same attitude!

Oh, I have been instructed by my BF to correct some assumptions. He was not named for the character in the 'Matrix' but for the figure that the Matrix character was named for. i.e. the Greek god of sleep and dreams. :)

The reason for this being 75% of our reptiles have Greek or Latin god/goddess names. :D He was keeping with the theme while giving the cham a perfect fitting name.

Well, he's spending the night in his holding cage while his big cage is getting the finishing touches to setup in the office. He came out fairly easily...after a 2 minute staredown and me tricking him into walking onto my hand instead of a branch. :D So far so good.
