New Cham coming tomorrow!

Hey all,

So we're back at it again with another Veiled Cham. I am sure many did not remember but our last lil guy passed away from his battle with his RI :(

It was terrible, but we were both set on having a chameleon, and a veiled none the less! Fortunately for us, since it was only 3 weeks after we purchased Optimus the breeder was willing to replace him with a new baby from a batch that was hatching in September (if you live in Spokane, WA go see Jodi and Joe at Rasmussen Reptiles in the Northtown Mall, doesnt get any better!). So we went and picked out a new baby that actually hatched on the day we went in. He was so little. His name will be Wiz, after Wiz Khalifa, since she used the colors black/yellow to mark his tail so we knew which one was ours.

I just wanted to share our new cage for the next Cham. Everything has been cleaned and sterilized and even a few new things have been bought. All the temps/humidity cheks out as well. I want the lil guys first day home to be smooth sailing! I am open for any suggestions as well - I want to add more plants to the back but wanted to keep it simplier from last time where it seemed over crowded and the poor lil guy stayed in one spot. This time I want him to see the obvious "highways" that we built for him.

Ps. Also picked up our first crested gecko last night, he was only $50 and I already had the cage from a friend who did not need it any more. I thought I might put Wiz in it, but he is much too big now - he has grown into quite the biggums in a month. No name for him yet, mainly cause I dont know what his/her gender might be :p

nice looking lil guy you got there sorry to hear about the last cham. you might want to raise that temp/humd gauge up higher as iam sure it will always be more humid and cooler down there and your gonna wanna know the temps and humidity up higher where he hangs out

I def did that, sorry the pic was taken before I was completely done. It was about 85 and still the same humidity up above and it was actually kinda chilly in my room so that makes me feel better with winter quickly approaching.

Congrats on getting a new cham, I hope this experience works out better for you, this is such a rewarding hobby to watch them grow
