New Camera & Tons-o-Pics of hatchlings!!

I hope Bugsy turns out okay b/c he is sooo cute! Very strange looking but cute! :) And I'm sure they will all start to eat soon...it usually takes a few days.

Lol. Seriously, the first thing I thought of when I saw Bugsy was this guy:

That's right, Little Foot! Who remembers that movie? It was awesome! Well, the first one was - haven't seen the other 56 of them. . .

I'd vote for Bugsy in the net photo contest! Hell, Bugsy for president!

Your pet-pals in the aquarium...they could be a little closer to the UVB light....and the container on top of the right one is blocking the light and should be removed.

I was wondering that, but I thought the UV might be too strong, which is why I put them in the 10 gallon. I will definatley move them colser to the UV and move the other. Thanks!

They look great! My panther babies didnt eat untill day 3. I was kinda worried myself but everything turned out fine. I do have a question though. I hope it doesnt come off as insulting or negative and its probably a dumb one but I noticed you have them in the critter keepers in that aquarium. It doesnt get too hot in there does it? Also I wouldnt think any of the UVB would penetrate through the screen on top and then down into the keepers..[/QUOTE]

I have only seen 2 of them actually eat, but I have seen turds...so that is a good sign right?? It doesn't get too hot, actually I'm not sure if it is getting hot enought, it is normally only 79-81, is that okay, or should I use a heat lamp? I just know how hot it can get with a heat lamp and I don't want to fry them! I am going to move the cages closer to the UV, thanks for pointing that out. This is my first cluth and I appreciate everyones comments/suggestions. I know I am a newbie to all this, so no offense is ever taken when someone with more experience is helping! I am truely thanful for this forum and all the experienced keepers to help me through this "journey".

LOL..I love little foot...I use to sleep with a stuffed little foot until I was like 10! :) I have seen like the first 4 movies..then quit!

I'd love to put bugsy in the photo contest, but their are a few things holding me back
1) I have never entered the contest before..so I would have to go to that thread and figure it all out
2) I am not sure if it is ethical to enter the contest and possibly win, all because I have a "defective" (I know that sounds bad but I couldn't think of a better word :) ) Chameleon. Does anyone get where I am going with it..I mean yeah he is absolutley adorable, but there is something wrong with him and I can't deny that fact. In all truth, if he stays like that I could probably sell him for more than normal, but I will keep him because I don't think it is ethical to sell him to someone that may breed him to carry out the trait. (It probably isn't genetic, but I wouldn't want to find out.) This is kinda a rant and my thinking may be off...I would like to hear opinions...What would everyone think if I entered him into the contest? I am pretty good at being manipulated to change my mind, so if the majority of the people see no ethical problem with it, then I may retract my bid and enter the contest..maybe:) Let me know what you all think!

400$ on a point and shoot!
For an extra 100$ you could have bought a real camera like a Nikon D40.
IMO, Canon makes a better point and shoot.

Good luck with the new babies.

I know..I have had a ton of people say that...all I was looking was for a 200 dollar PAS, but I ended up with this. I am not ready to run with the big guys yet :) I am having a hard time figuring mine out. Maybe once I get sick of this one...unless you want to persuade me some more...I have a couple more days to return it ;)

What I have seen a lot of people do is cut most of the lid of the pet pals away and replace it with screen so that the UVB can penetrate better.
Just be careful when you move the UVB closer that you watch the temperature in the pet pals so don't "cook" the chameleons! I would NOT lay the UVB light directly on top of the pet pals.

You don't want a Nikon Coolpix P80. You want to go home, rethink your camera purchase, and buy a Nikon D40 from the nearest electronics dealer.

http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1222891655&sr=1-3

They sell these things for cheap now.:)

Turn the little knob to the green camera(auto mode) and shoot away.
You should get 10x better pictures then that P&S.

A DSLR is the best camera purchase you can make.
They may be bigger, but it's totally worth it!

Some great reading.

I couldn't agree more , but you want a real camera like a canon not a Nikon.

LMAO .,,,, JK I love to stir it up

They were kept mainly in the lower 70s, but at the begining I had them in a hovabator, and noticed during the first week that even though I had it set at 73, for some reason it got into the 80's, so I just unplugged the incubator, but left the eggs in it. The weird thing is, is that I have 2 clutches hatching right now, and this is from the clutch that is 2 months younger than the other. Do you expect him/her to be ok? He can completly close his eyes. Thanks!

if it was the one with the fan thats why the temps rise the fan motor gets hot i cut mine out
