New Cages for x-mas!!

Hello all I am getting new cages for x-mas and was wondering if the 24x24x36 would work for an adult veild or sould I go with the 24x24x48. I am not sure I can get the heat light on top if I get the 48" as they will be setting on my dresser in my room. If I do get the 48" it will be 6" from the celing will that be to tall?

a 24x24x36 would work, if that is what you have space for then thats what you go with.
