New cage issues

Ok, the cham is here and in his nice new cage... but there are a few problems. First, here are the final pictures of the completed cage:

Dimensions = 3'x2'x5'. One 24" ReptiGlo 10.0 across the top back, one 100wt bulb in lamp for bask spot, one 75wt bulb in lamp on side for ambient boost and light.
Acurite thermometer with probe (probe at the basking spot) for main readings, plus three digital Flukers thermometers arranged around the cage to read ambient temps and humidity.
Little Dripper for dripping, and hand misting (for now until I get my mist system working).
4 live plants - Dracanea(sp?), Braided ficus, spider, and pothos.

Here's the issue - Temperatures. I've got the basking spot at 87-90, but the rest of the cage is only at 70-74. The house temp is 71, and unfortunately the cage is in the dining room across the room from the front door (ONLY place in the apartment the cage would fit). Humidity doesn't seem to want to go much above 35%, and that bothers me, but he has the dripper and I'll be misting by hand until I get the mister going.
Any suggestions on how I might get the temps up?

BUMP! Ok, now I have a question for all you experienced owners out there:

I figured out a way to rearrange things so that his cage can be placed in the 'office' - a much more temperature stable room with less regular traffic and movement.

When could I move him, though? I have a nice holding cage for him that just needs to be cleaned, so he wouldn't be held much, but I don't want to stress him out!...any more than he may already be from the shipping and such.
Do I give him a few days or a week to settle and then move the cage? Do I do it within the next day or two to "get it all over with"? Any advice on this would be most welcome, since I figure most of my temp problems stem from the position of the cage.

Thanks!

if its for a vield or panther those temps are fine...but 87 to 90 is alittle hot.....

90 too hot for a large juvi Veiled?

Move it to the other room that you spoke with Darci about and I think that will be help with your swings, other than that the temps look good.

:) Plans are underway for the move. A few things have to be rearranged and I have to cut some fabric for a curtain (since we stay up late on the computers).

Thanks for the reassurance and suggestions. :D Hopefully he won't mind being taken out of his new cage to be placed in his holding cage while the move happens.

stressed by moving, or stressed by traffic, and heat changes. either way he will be so i would lean more to just moving it
