Be careful with that transparent cup. I hear that chams can try to attack prey they can see outside the cup and hurt themselves.

I put my crickets in a plastic cup, the kind you buy for beer (or soft drinks, lol) and they know what is coming when I open their cages with that cup in my hand. In fact, they come rushing to the front, hoping to catch an easy dinner. At one point I was using a small oval shaped clear glass thing that you put wasabi in, and my little girl saw it overhead and tried to get the worm I had in the cup. I could feel the pull when she hit the cup. So, in order to not damage her tongue, I now feed supers out of my hand. Each one of my chams get only 1 per day because I don't want them to think that they don't have to eat crickets any more.

Thanks, but I have never seen that happen with Joyce. She caught on in about 10 seconds to lean into the cup, aim and fire, and has been eating out of it for weeks with no problems. :)

I actually keep the cup in her cage all the time, except to take it out once daily to wash it. Since I moved her to this new cage she has gone into pig mode for some reason, and when I check her each morning she goes straight to the cup and stares into it pointedly, then looks at me like "Well???" She had 6 crickets and three superworms yesterday morning, and another 5 crickets this morning, even though she was averaging 3 or 4 crickets and the occasional worm every two days or so in the old cage. It will be interesting to see if she goes back to her old pattern, or if I will have to implement Weight Watchers.
