Or is it?
I have a 4-5month old male veiled chameleon.(guessed age..) He is well over five inches long from head to start of tail.(maybe longer) (tried to measure but he got mad at the ruler)

Anyway I finally put the cage together. Its a 100gallon size: 16.5"x 30"x 48" tall. Below are pictures.
The top has fake vines and the plant in the cage is an umbrella (schefflera)

Please tell me if I need anything or need to take something away. Once I move him in, I will take the final picture and repost in this thread.

Orginally the person who gave it to me put glass little rocks. I have taken them out now and fill in with bigger rocks

Looks goodbut what are they in the pot? are they little glass beads? make sure they cant swallow them if they are small

Post some pics up of him i would like to know what size a male is about at 5 months:)

Sorry just read your next post aobut glass rocks.

Be carefull with the umbrella tree mine died near enough some one told me i had over watered it, im not to sure if that was the case, but it did not last to long, i used fiscus but they seem to drop leaves, and now onto pothos which seems really hardy , s

As long as you are misting the plants in the cage, you really don't need to water them except every two weeks and just lightly. Feel the dirt first to see it is dry and also if you have a pan at the bottom of the plant make sure it isn't filled with water where the plant sits in it all the time. :D

I have a few questions tho. I bought two 24inch fixtures because I was told I should buy a 6500k bulb for more light and for the plants. Well bulbs came with the fixtures and they are size 4200k.
Can these be used?

Also I put a 60w bulb in since I figured the cage would range different but it went up to 98 so far.
So I should put the 34w back in?

What do you all think?

I think the 4200k is okay for your plants and I assume you have a ReptiSun 5.0 tube light, right? Try a 60 watt bulb, you don't want to get him too hot. I feel the highest basking temp should be 90. You could also put a couple of limbs at different levels for his basking. That way if he gets too hot, he can still bask but be cooler if he wants.

So I can use the 4200k bulbs with him in the cage?

I used a 60w and tested it. The main bask is up to 99 if i use it. The 34w makes it atleast 91

Great, what I would do is set up both fixtures and keep the UVB and basking light separate than the 4500k you are using for the plants. I would closely monitor the temp just to make sure it's not too hot.

I don't understand that. I should put both the 4200k and uv beside each other?

I have a bask lamp and uv on the top as shown in the picture

I thought you said "I bought two 24inch fixtures" meaning 2 separate fixtures. If it's one fixture with 2 bulbs, then give it a try, just monitor the temp. Sorry buddy, I mis-understood. :)

I bought two "seperate" 24inch b/c I couldn't find any dual fixtures. SO what do I do?

Put one with the UVB and separate basking light on the side where he bask and put the 4200k on the other side. That way the plant light is not interferring with his UVB and basking. Just monitor the temp in the enclosure to make sure both lights aren't making it too hot.

done?

Ok so I put the other fixture up and below is what it looks like.
