So I just started to make this new cage for Ringo. The inside measures 24x30x48in originally had it planned 24x36x48in but didnt measure out as planned. I just started yesterday real late in the afternoon and didnt get a good start this afternoon... since its real windy out I probably wont be able to get a watersealant coat on til tomorrow. But heres a starter pic with my little helper!

Drainage and feeder shelf

So in Ringo's new cage I wanted to make a shelf that would be used only drainage and the other would be only for feeder containers. I only have 22 inc of free space under the cage itself. But I'm have a problem finding some type of container that would fit most of the cage if not 2 smaller ones to fit in the shelf. Then I like http://www.lowes.com/pd_336492-6286...3341164&Ntt=hefty&pl=1&currentURL=&facetInfo= for my roach container but IDK if its big enough for the roaches but small enough to fit on bottom shelf. Then I need to make a locked storage area so my son cant get into the supplements. But I'm better sure that this is going to be a nice cage when its completely done =)

Also would this shower curtain be too bright? Little Helper hands trying to be Mr. Helpful

What programmable timer does everyone use? I dont want to buy the zoomed one since zoomed sucks. And I dont really want to spend $13 on 3 different timers.

It looks good so far and is about the same size as my next cage build.

What programmable timer does everyone use? I dont want to buy the zoomed one since zoomed sucks. And I dont really want to spend $13 on 3 different timers.

Last time I was at Lowes I saw a couple of different types of surge protectors with the built in digital timer that looked almost identical to the Zoomed ones but cost about half as much. Haven't tried them out yet since I had already bought the Zoomed version a few months ago before I knew about the ones at Lowes but they look like they'd be a good alternative for you.

Another small delay saying that this lady I'm baby sitting for didnt pay me til today! So.... my husband said on this Saturday he will get ALL my stuff on shopping just for my cage :) AWESOME HUSBAND! Having a yardsale this weekend so cant do it myself. I did however get 1 door finished and the bottom shelf somewhat done. Got it waterproofed and ready for the screen. Just waiting on Saturday so I can do the middle shelf, the other door, and screen it! :)

Hurry up already will ya?? I've been following this thing for 2 months, or weeks, or whatever! ;) :D

IDEAL! I couldnt hold it in anymore!

:DSO... i have this ideal that came to my mind last night as I was staring at my unfinished cage. I was thinking about adding on a small free rang to the cage. This is what I was thinking.

I have a 2x4 piece of plywood I was going to use as a divider when I had Angel. Well, I'm thinking about cutting that piece of 2x4 in half. Attaching that 2x2 piece with legs so it can fold under when not in use or being moved. On that side that I plan on making this little hidaway freerange table, I was planning on making another door. I have plenty of plants I can use on the table and just need to pick up some more branches and veins. I know my husband thinks I'm crazy to have all these ideals but what can I say! I love Ringo and want to make it the best cage for him lol

Oh yea cage is coming along pretty nicely. waiting to get the drainage shelf up then I'll get the screen put on. A little nervous about putting the wheels on

anyone ready to see some pics? I have 2 to show, not very good since it was dark out when I took them. All I have left to do is the second door, drainage shelf, and maybe the wheels...

Here's the teaser pics. I should have this completely finished this weekend andcompletely furnished by next week. Its not finished!

Bottom of the cage

Theres 2 wire shelves underneath the cage to support plants. Theres a middle brace to help hold up both of them. Also have a couple zip ties supported on the frame.

So I got some pics this morning of Ringo's new cage. Not finished yet, need to finish the drainage shelf and the storage shelf. Place the plants in there so I know how it would look.
