new cage 1st time cham owner

hey guys just got my cham in a lil over a week ago. im a first time owner, so any suggestions would be great.

I can't see where his basking light is, but you'll need some vines up there so he can get some heat if he wants some. He's a cutie!

I too would like to see the lights...
what I hope is that you are using a normal houshold bulb (25w-40w) for basking, and a reptisun 5.0 for UVB.

a good vine or branch needs to be placed about 8" away from the bulb for him to bask well.

Im picking up my first cham next week and spent today and will spend tomorrow running around getting an enclosure and everything set up. Your guy is real cute

the more you read around here the more youll see pictures of not just the cage but lights, misting system and drainage systems (when applicable) are almost more important than the picutre of the cage

crap i dont actually have any pics of the lighting system . its the reptisun 5.0 and a 8.5 ceramic heating dome with a daylight uva heat bulb. its the scremeleons setup kit. all i did was add a pothos and a fake vine

the problem as far as my vines go i had the branch connected on the branch up near the top but the thermometer was reading really high around 95-97 so i lowered the branch. im not sure if my thermomter is jacked up or if i just had the branch to high on the cage.

and i have the habba mist system (but i hand mist 3 times a day) u can watch the vid on the screameleons website of the setup kit. or ill just post better pics in a day or so

The UVB bulb is it a coil bulb or tube style? You need to lower the basking temps. to low 80's. How old is your baby?

I have noticed on the that cage that many members have had to raise the dome light up somehow at first so the temps are not so high.

Its the tube style reptisun 5.0. Yea that's what I'm going to try next. Is elevating the heat lamp.cuz I can't lower the branch any more. My cham is 3 months old.
