I usually stay away from new imports, but this guy was so special, I figure it is worth the trouble (and cost) of getting him checked, medicated and adjusted. That picture is not even with him fired up.Great looking guy!! I have been seeing some super interesting WC chams come in lately.
First that new Nosy Be that Chameleon Nation just got in
Second an Ambanja that is almost all white and red
Now your Ambilobe
It's really cool to see some NEW genes coming into the states![]()
Importers still bring in shipments from Madagascar, and other locations all the time.Give me info on wild caught Panthers!! How is this possible??
Thanks!![]()

Vet costs vary greatly. Once you have a relationship with a vet, if everything seems ok, you can just get a fecal exam done, and then take it from there with what course of treatment is needed. Fecals are not usualy more than $50.00.Beautiful! What are the costs associated with a vet check, meds, ect of a wild caught?
Thanks. He is a fresh import, so I have to have him checked, and I'm sure I will have to deal with some medications, but he will be worth it. I jumped at the chance to get him when he was offered to me. The pictures do not even show his purple barring well at all.Is he a fresh import or long term captive?
He is stunning now but give him a month or so and he is gonna be SCREAMING!
Congratulations thats one hell of a new addition.
Thanks. I jumped at the chance to get him. I am looking forward to getting him vet checked and acclimated. Those pictures do not do him any justice. The purple barring is amazing! That male is awesome man. Cant remember ever seeing an ambi with purple barring and red body. Like Jessica said give him about a month or so with good care and let him shed off the wc dirt and he will be a jaw dropper. Im not usually a fan of ambi's but I love that guy!![]()
They are usually less than that. But, I've seen people mention that they have paid that much. Depends on the vet.are vet visits the same for reptiles as they are for dogs/cats?
$50 for a fecal only sounds high??

Thanks. That is exactly what I am going to do. I will just have the fecal check done to see where we are. Jim at the Chameleon Company has a male breeder "Hyperion" that is amazing with red background and purple barring. This guy "Belphegor" (finally named him) looks similiarI would just let him acclimate for a few weeks, gives his immune system time to do some work before having to administer deworming meds. Just keep him away from your other chams.
He's gorgeous I'm excited to see how he looks down the road!

Brilliant minds think alike!! I just ordered two from Jim and will have them on Wednesday. Now I just have to be patient to let them grow up.Looks like you know where to get his female![]()
