Just got a 7 month male ambi from a breeder on here a week ago and he still wont use his tongue. This guy has been eating but only what he can catch. I noticed he was a little slim when I got him but some chams just are. I started watching him closely about 3 days ago and realized that he only sticks his tongue out about an inch to catch his food and most of the time just knocks the cricket down.
Also, I noticed he cleans (bulges) his eyes out and around a lot more than any of my other ambilobes. So I have been misting him more often and given him some showers.
I have gotten him to eat 3 crickets out of my hand yesterday and 2 today.
I have dubias coming next week to try.
Can these two issues be related?
Some threads say the tongue issue might be an injury or a vitamin deficiency?
I still haven't heard back from the breeder...
