Another montane?!? I guess your conversion to the dark side is complete. ;)

Ha Ha!

Fabian (not the chameleon) assures me that we will have good luck with this young fellow.
The veileds still far outnumber the montanes here.
Sorry we haven't talked for awhile Trace, I am unable to get on messenger for some reason.
Hope you are well!

Ha! I'm not sure how I missed this. I think you'll definitely enjoy him-- he has the best "personality" of all 19 in the clutch-- and despite his tail, he's a little tank (his "differences" give him character, kind of like me?)! I rarely got to see him in his "leave me alone" outfit, but he's stunning that way, too.

I can't wait to see him grow, Brad. You guys are really going to love watching him eat-- they're truly fascinating.

Keep us posted!

Cheers,

Fabián

Nice Brad!!!!! Everyone of the deremensis I see that Fabián hatched and raised are just beautiful!!!!!:)

BTW, when are you going to add a Kinyongia species to your collection????

Thanks again Fabian!
He came out of the bag with his "bring it on" colors and actually bit me on the way to his enclosure!
I haven't been bitten by a chameleon yet (despite the army of veileds residing here) it was very exciting!
I think he is comfortable in his new space.
Haven't seen him eat yet.

Despite having "crossed to the dark side" I am not in a rush to collect an array of mountainous species.
That being said, my answer to your question is ... "I don't know"
:)

Ahhh, now, that's the deremensis I know. He does look quite content in his new home-- I love that defensive dorsal display... where they give you their back and watch you simultaneously-- the equivalent of hiding behind a branch on other, more slender, chameleons.

He bit you?! Amazing...

Hailo, deremensis display a unique feeding response before striking, where they shake vigorously (not sure whether it is an infrasound vibration), though it can also be observed sometimes when misting, though I presume that has to do with a negative reaction to the water, particularly when it comes on abruptly.
