Netting/hardware cloth

I have seen cages with it looks like 1/4"-1/2" netting or hardware cloth. I saw some hardware cloth in a screen cage. Is the galvanized hardware cloth toxic? The reason I am asking is because I need to mount some branches horizontally in a screen cage but I am not sure how to do it.

Thanks,
Brian

No its not toxic but if it gets rust it can be. If you use the bare metal hardware cloth id clearcoat it first. I use plastic 1/2'' hardware cloth on my cage. ill try to post a pic later.:D

Yes, the zinc is toxic. Numerous studies on birds related to illness and death, no official studies on reptiles but I'd assume similar because birds and reptiles are closely related.

Use the plastic coated wire, or plastic mesh.

I use the vinyl coated hardware cloth and have for over 7 years. No ill-effects on my chams/various other reptiles.
