Neodymium VS. Incandescent

Is there any downside to using neodymium bulbs over incandescent? I do know that the neodys have a tint on the bulb. Thank you for your replies! :D

Uh Neodymium bulbs are incandescent, the only diff is the Neodymium filters out the high reds so the light looks more natural. Its not going to put out UV or anything so im not sure what you are asking. They just got a 2000k bulb, but blue glass on it, and tried to make it look like a 6500k daylight bulb. I think it looks bad, its just has harsh as florescent, only other colors pop instead of blue and orange like florescent. Its still not even close to full spectrum for visible light, and they are dimmer since they are filtering.

Exactly. There isn't a real functional difference as they are both incandescent. A "normal" white household incandescent bulb will produce the heat you need and cost less. No incandescent will produce the UV levels your cham needs on its own.

I just want to give a pat on the back to Nightanole! This guy is always on point with giving great informative information on lighting! I've learned so much about lighting because of Nightanole. I appreciate it! Good stuff!
